Eyþór Franzson Wechner fæddist á Akranesi. Hann byrjaði að læra á píanó 7 ára gamall en skipti 14 ára yfir á orgel, í fyrstu undir leiðsögn Úlriks Ólasonar en síðar hjá Birni Steinari Sólbergssyni við Tónskóla Þjóðkirkjunnar og Listaháskóla Íslands. Eftir tvö ár í Listaháskólanum hélt hann til Þýskalands. Við “Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig” lauk Eyþór Bachelor of Arts gráðu í orgelleik árið 2012 og Master of Arts gráðu árið 2014 við sama skóla. Helsti kennari hans í Leipzig var Prof. Stefan Engels. Meðfram náminu sótti Eyþór meistaranámskeið hjá ýmsum nafnkunnum organistum. Eyþór er nú starfandi organisti Blönduóskirkju. Eyþór hefur komið fram á einleikstónleikum á Íslandi, Þýskalandi og í Ástralíu.
Eyþór Franzson Wechner hails from Akranes, a fishing town just north of Reykjavík. He began his piano studies at the age of 7 but switched to the organ at 14 years of age. His first teacher was Úlrik Ólason and later Björn Steinar Sólbergsson. After two years at the Iceland Academy of the Arts he moved to Leipzig to study at the “Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig” and finished with a Bachelor’s degree in 2012 and Master’s degree in 2014 under the guidance of Prof. Stefan Engels. During his studies, Eythor has had the chance to attend masterclasses from many of the worlds most accomplished organists. Eythor works as an organist in Blönduós, in the north of Iceland, and has performed in his home country as well as in Germany and in Australia.
